    Position Summary:

    This Safety Manager/Coordinator position is responsible for planning, collaborating on, implementing, and maintaining a variety of health, safety and environmental programs to assure the highest degree of workplace safety for employees, as well as compliance with all related regulatory requirements.




    • Provide safety support and information to employees
    • Identify safety training needs and coordinate safety training programs
    • Assist in Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment activities
    • Develop/Update Job Safety Analyses/Risk Assessments as needed
    • Perform internal safety audits
    • Support emergency preparedness procedures
    • Assist in the selection of appropriate personal protective equipment
    • Promote safety awareness through communication and specific training programs
    • Chair plant’s Safety Committee meetings and communicate best practices with other sites
    • Schedule/Conduct/Evaluate Emergency Response Drills at site
    • Successfully manage and complete all EH&S related work assignments and duties in a timely manner
    • Conduct effective EH&S related training for employees, contractors and visitors
    • Assist in the development and implementation of EH&S related policies, procedures and programs to assure compliance with all federal, state, local and company-specific regulations & requirements
    • Review incident reports (accidents and near misses) and follow-up as necessary to ensure accuracy and completeness of all information provided
    • Conduct EH&S related workplace inspections and participate in accident/incident investigations to identify root-cause and appropriate corrective actions
    • Coordinate with HR on Workers Compensation and Return-to-Work matters
    • Properly respond to day-to-day EH&S related issues in a timely and efficient manner
    • Maintain required detailed recordkeeping and EH&S related documentation; report EH&S required data to Corporate Office
    • Monitor and report on plant safety goals and objectives
    • Ensure understanding of all EH&S and regulatory requirements needed to maintain a safe work environment
    • Execute other tasks as assigned
    • Ability to travel when required




    • Associates (2 year) degree, ideally related to workplace safety, industrial engineering, or similar discipline or Ireland Advanced Certificate (Level 6)
    • 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Practical knowledge of OSHA regulatory requirements
    • OSHA 30 Hour General Industry Certification preferred
    • Possess excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels in a construction environment
    • Preferred First-Aid/CPR/AED Certified
    • Ability to pass an agility test, lift up to and push & pull 50 lbs
    • Stand, sit and walk for several hours at a time
    • Ability to frequently climb, reach, crouch, stoop, end or kneel
    • Candidate must also be proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
