    Position Title: (Internal) 2nd Shift Quality Technician

    Reports To: Quality Manager

    Location: Springfield, MO

    Job Type: Full-Time

    Position Summary:

    The Quality Technician assists the Quality team with implementation of company-wide operations procedures and process to support the overall Quality Assurance plan. This role supports Quality improvement throughout the shop floor and within the team concept. Participate as cross-functional team member within assigned goal oriented team responsibility.

     

     

     

    Responsibilities

     

     

     

    • Inspection of incoming materials & components, ABEC manufactured items, and assembled systems in order to ensure conformance to established quality standards and all related quality documentation requirements
    • Physical inspection of manufactured parts to verify conformance to design drawings and related specifications (material, dimensional, surface finish, etc.)
    • Ensure accurate and complete receipt of all required quality-related documentation
    • Conduct in-process inspections and prepare reporting documents as required during manufacturing, Pre-FAT, and packaging/crating of equipment
    • Conduct "Walk Downs" of systems using the Job Data file to ensure completeness and accuracy of data
    • Assist Quality Receiving Technicians with Verification of purchased components to correct quantity, part number & condition
    • Perform necessary data entry to process accepted materials and components into ERP system, accurately logging all lot and serial number tracked items as required
    • Creation and processing of Material Discrepancy Reports, as well as assisting in resolution of problems and return discrepant materials as required
    • Conduct various administrative functions as required in support of Quality Department activities
    • Assist in controlling & maintaining test equipment and calibration of test equipment within ABEC
    • Filing of project-related and Quality Department documentation
    • Assist in the assembly of project Turnover Packages (TOPs)
    • Interaction with customers and vendors as needed
    • Travel to other ABEC facilities, vendor locations or customer sites as required to support Quality Department activities
    • Follow all ABEC safety rules and corporate policies
    • Execute other tasks as assigned

     

    Qualifications

     

     

    • High School Diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or Ireland Leaving Certificate minimum, Associate Degree in a technical field or Ireland Advanced Certificate (Level 6) preferred
    • 3 years post graduate work in a related field or function 
    • Certified Quality Inspector, (CQI) / Certified Quality Technician (CQT) preferred but not mandatory
    • Active ABEC employee
